With jewelry being seen as good luck charms throughout history, and stones and metals thought to emit various qualities for the bearer of said piece, the collection is titled Tonali- which translates from Nahuatl as luck.
Inspired by the curvature found in the pre-Hispanic Nahuatl dialect, and the symbols and textures found throughout Aztec pottery and jewelry, Tonali maximizes the brilliance of the gemstones while portraying a notion of ‘flowing metal’.
Throughout the collection, the diamonds can be found ‘encased’ between sheets of matte and high polished 18K yellow and palladium white gold. Resulting in even greater contrast between the two precious metals.
The age-old channel setting technique is used in an unconventional manner in order to maximize the brilliance of the stones and to create a sense of fragility throughout.
